Porsche has released a video of the 911 GT2 RS hot lapping both the Porsche Experience Center and the Silverstone Circuit. The fastest and most powerful road-going Porsche, ever, the GT2 RS is a more extreme version of the 911 GT2, which is a more extreme version of the 911 Turbo, which is a more extreme grand-touring version of the 911. It has lapped the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in seven minutes and 18 seconds, packs 620 hp, and weighs a scant 3,021 pounds. The savings in weight comes thanks to replacement carbon fiber pieces for the exterior, nylon door pulls like in the Boxster Spyder and Cayman R, a lithium-ion battery pack, and deletion of the radio and air conditioning units. The GT2 RS highlighted in the video is donning a Club Sport package, which consists of a roll cage, fire extinguisher, and six-point seat harnesses. The rear-wheel-drive $245,000 911 GT2 RS will be limited to 500 units, with 100 of those earmarked for the U.S.
