McLaren dealer network revealed

McLaren MP4-12 will be available in 19 countries in 35 cities when it is launched worldwide starting in spring of 2011. Europe will be first ones to get their hands on the Ferrari 458 combatant and then delivers will follow in North America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East/South Africa.

The North American locations include Chicago, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Orange County, California; Miami, Florida; New York, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Francisco, California; Tampa, Florida; and Toronto, Ontario.

McLaren expects Europe to garnish the majority of sales with a target of 400–500 units a year. Those targets are followed closely by 300–400 units for North America and 100–200 cars in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and South Africa regions. Although McLaren wants to increase global sales to 4,000 units a year in the future, it still wants to keep its network of dealers smaller, more flexible, and more profitable than its competitors’ networks.

I think limited dealership is kind of clever strategy for this brand.
