Lamborghini has donated $1 million to help open up the Automobili Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Lab at the University of Washington in Seattle. Lamborghini was drawn to the school by Assistant Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics Paolo Feraboli, who worked for the exotic-car manufacturer in 2001 and 2002. The university is one of the top research schools in the world for composite materials.
“For Lamborghini, in the future, it will be less about increasing the power and more about reducing the weight,” said CEO Stephan Winkelmann .
