A Canadian man has filed court documents against Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. for the money he paid for a Bugatti Veyron that was never delivered. Barry Zekelman says he ordered a new Italian Red Veyron 16.4 on September 5, 2008 and paid for the car in full through a Bugatti dealership in Troy, Michigan. On December 23, 2008, Zekelman was told that Bugatti would not be manufacturing any 2009 models. He was offered a 2008 model, but Zekelman refused, and asked for either the car he had ordered or a refund. The dealership promised his money would be refunded in an email on January 5, 2009.
The complaint was filed on August 10 because Zekelman was never refunded the money. The Plantiff is requesting the full refund in the amount of $1,553,354.57 plus interest and attorney fees.
