A Ferrari F50 was crashed into a tree by a FBI agent on Wednesday morning in Lexington, Kentucky. The FBI agent was driving the seized sports car back to a warehouse for storage when he lost control. Police believe the car was going 40 mph when the collision occurred; speculation is that bald tires were the culprit.
The F50 was designed as both a replacement to the famed F40 and as a commemoration for Ferrari’s 50th anniversary. Only 349 F50s were produced at a sticker price of approximately $500,000. Today, a used F50 normally fetches upwards of $650,000.
