DMC's Gargiulo for the Aventador LP700-4 will be distributed by Evolution MotorSports

Stock Lamborghini Aventador

Lamborghini Aventador with DMC Gargiulo kit

To see the differences between the stock Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 and one equipped with the DMC Gargiulo carbon fiber body kit, you really need a side-by-side (or in this case, a top-to-bottom) comparison. It’s those subtle alterations that DMC strives to accomplish. This is perfect for Evolution MotorSports of Tempe, Arizona, which has been looking to market OEM-style parts that are not too over-the-top.

As Todd Zuccone, founder and president of Evolution MotorSports, put it: “We were not looking for crazy over the top designs, but to work with a company who refines the OEM style while enhancing the aerodynamic flow.”

This perfect match has resulted in DMC Tuning of Düsseldorf, Germany, naming Evolution MotorSports as the exclusive distributor of its aftermarket components in the United States.

Another neat, although off-topic, fact about Evoltuion MotorSports is that it is the exclusive provider of Gumpert products in North America. They also build the 1,485-hp Porsche 997 911 we told you about a few days ago. Read the press release for the full details.

Man jailed for videotaping 140-mph run

Police in Oregon arrested a man for videotaping his 2005 BMW driving in excess of 140 mph. Stanislav Vadimovich Bakanov was pulled over in Portland, Oregon, after being clocked at 118 mph. Sheriff's Deputy Ryan Postlewait noticed the man’s camera and, when asked, Bakanov admitted to recording his speedometer and his traffic citation for YouTube. Bakanov was arrested, charged with reckless driving and speeding, and his camera was confiscated. The video of his 140-mph run will be used as evidence against him in his upcoming trial. No word if Bakanov still plans to one day put his video on YouTube.

In the meantime, you can always watch the video below offered by a Bugatti Veyron owner. He conducted a 219-mph run on the Autobahn with a set of police lights to help clear a path.

Gumpert to unveil new Tornante model at Geneva

To increase the reach of the brand, Gumpert has teamed up with coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, the same company that brought us the Bentley Flying Star wagon amongst many other creations, to offer a second model in what has always been a one-horse show. The new Gumpert Tornante model is set to be unveiled at the next International Geneva Motor Show on March 1, 2011.

The car will offer two-seats and a mid-engine V-8 like its sister supercar. Unlike the Apollo, which has a reputation for being racecar brutal, the new Gumpert will offer more space, elegance, and comfort. However, it will still be far from soft and will utilizes composite body panels and a carbon fiber monocoque for extreme athleticism.
