Cars On 5th is a car show that takes place every year on 5th Avenue in Naples, Florida. Chris Grosser, a professional photographer and automotive enthusiast, was out there taking some breathtaking photographs. Amongst the many exotic cars that showed up at the 2011 Cars On 5th event: a Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita (one of only three in the world), a Lexus LFA (one of only 500 ever to be built and one of the few that have been already delivered), and an assortment of Lamborghinis and Ferraris. 10/28/2009Ferrari agrees to one more Zagato

To celebrate 90 years of re-skinning Italian exotics, CarsUK.net is reporting that Zagato has teamed up with Ferrari to produce the 550 GTZ. Based off the Ferrari 550 Barchetta, five of these Z8-like-styling roadsters will be built at a price tag of more than £1 million ($1.65 million). Each car will be refurbished by Ferrari and then shipped to Zagato for the bodywork.

Performance will not be altered. It will use the same 5.5-liter 485-hp V-12 engine found in the base car.

Rumors have this being that last time a re-skinned Zagato will be able to work with Ferrari and thus wear the prancing-horse badges because Ferrari will be moving all customer customizations in-house.

9/19/2008Here is a tip: don’t ever commit a crime spree in a Ferrari

Steve Syme, 50, of Salt Lake City, was quickly apprehended by police today, after he stole a Burgundy Ferrari off a dealership lot, then went on to rob a jewelry store and pawn a $1,900 ring with the car.  The 550 Maranello was stolen after an employee left the car idling while transporting it and other cars out of the showroom for a show at the Salt Palace. The car, the only one of its kind in the area according to employees, was worth approximately $130,000. Syme was pulled over after the car was easily spotted by a police officer on patrol.

This is the first time a car was stolen from the Steve Harris Imports business. Since little gasoline is kept in the vehicles, the employees assumed the thief would not be able to get far. During the ninety minutes the man had the car, he stopped by Paul Thomas Jewelers and stole a diamond ring then preceded to Midtown Pawn, two blocks away from the dealership where the car was stolen, and sold the diamond ring.
